Layout Share: Wanderlust

I love scrapbooking with a sketch or a process video.  Even if I just use it as a place to start, and then go my own way.  For me, it just takes all of the guess work out of where to place things on the layout and reduces the stress of wondering if I will like the end result.  I still feel that I have total creative freedom even when I use a sketch as a guide, because I can choose my own supplies and achieve a totally different look in my own style.  I recently made this layout after watching this process video by Shimelle Laine, and I thought I'd share how I created a page with a similar layout and similar embellishment, but with a completely original look.

I followed her sketch quite closely, layering papers in a similar way and placing the title to the bottom right, creating an L shaped layout.  I placed the embellishment in a loose diagonal line from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. I reinforced the loose diagonal line by sprinkling Heidi Swapp Gold Colourshine mist and pink sequins across the page along the same line. I also was inspired by Shimelle's globe embellishment, and created my own by layering a globe die-cut over a gold globestand die-cut I cut with my Cricut. I used an airplane stamp to create a plane embellishment to layer over the globe in a similar way that Shimelle did.  I also brought in some other stamped phrases to create some banner embellishments for the smaller embellishment areas on the page.

Thank you for letting me share my work.  Comments, feedback, and questions are more than welcome :)
